These compiled assay values have been derived from analytical data provided by Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd., Vancouver, B.C. (Acme). The true width (TW) of the mineralization is estimated to be approximately 70% of the core interval, but this is subject to revision. A-07-45 was drilled from the same collar location as A-07-43 and A-94-12 (completed by Inmet Mining Corporation in 1994). Hole 45 penetrated the CCZ some 45 meters updip from a similar intercept as reported in hole 43. The table below summarizes the results to date for the three holes for which assays are now available, including today’s results.
note: * denotes holes previously released These results indicate that the CCZ mineralization is centred on a higher grade long axis of at least 700 meters in length. This high grade “core” remains open both up and down dip as well as down plunge to the southeast and northwest – areas of significant primary exploration potential. “This, our third hole completed this year, represents grades and thicknesses within a higher grade corridor of the CCZ and provides excellent exploration guidance to additional areas of similar widths and grade on the Akie property. The wide higher grade section of 22.59% Zn+Pb clearly enhances the zone in terms of contained metal. As the CCZ remains open both on strike and down plunge, I believe our Akie property hosts one the best base metal targets currently being explored anywhere in Canada” stated Jim Mustard, President of Mantle. Access Road Status Mantle has recently submitted an application to various authorities within the BC provincial government for an extension of the Akie forestry logging road. The length of the road is estimated at 16 kilometres and follows a planned route previously designed by the logging company in the district. This road, if approved, will provide surface access to the CCZ area to facilitate a planned expansion of drilling in 2008 and additional site activities to fully explore the property as the Company foresees an expanded exploration program in 2008. Commencement of road work will depend on timing of approvals, but the Company is hopeful its application will be approved before year end. Assay Samples and Procedures All core selected for analysis is split by diamond saw and sampled, with a maximum of 1.5 meters of core in each sample. These are placed in plastic bags, shipped in secure containers to Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd., Vancouver, B.C., and there subjected to aqua regia digestion followed by ICP-ES and ICP-MS analysis (Acme Group 7AX Multi-Element Assay) to determine zinc, lead and silver content. Standards and blanks are inserted into the assay stream at a rate of about one of each for every 25 core samples. Check assays are regularly carried out by Global Discovery Labs, also in
About the Akie Property The Akie zinc-lead property is situated within the southern-most part (Kechika Trough) of the regionally extensive Paleozoic Selwyn Basin, one of the most prolific sedimentary basins in the world for the occurrence of SEDEX zinc-lead-silver and stratiform barite deposits. Drilling on the Akie property by Inmet Mining Corporation during the period 1994 to 1996 and by Mantle in 2005 and 2006 and this year has identified a significant body of baritic SEDEX mineralization (Cardiac Creek Zone). The deposit is hosted by variably siliceous, fine grained clastic rocks of the Middle to Late Devonian ‘Gunsteel Formation. Two similar deposits, Cirque and South Cirque, located some 20 kilometers northwest of Akie and owned under a joint venture by Teck Cominco and Korea Zinc, are also hosted by Gunsteel rocks and have a combined geologic inventory in excess of 50 million tonnes averaging approximately 10% combined zinc+lead.
